EP-014 Temporary Visa Cops
Breaking! Among all the mess within the thousand bills submitted each year, a sneaky bad bill always seems to get passed the general public.
SB-5068 is one of those bills – Concerning agencies, firefighters, prosecutors, and general or limited authority law enforcement, extending eligibility for employment to all United States citizens or persons legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law.
The bill would extend eligibility for employment within the Washington State law enforcement hiring process to temporary visa worker programs … WOW. Unfortunately this bill was not on our radar, and apparently it wasn’t on Senate Republican’s radar either as every Senate Republican voted yes on SB-5068. The bill could be heard as soon as March 28th on the House floor for vote.
