EP-Trailer – Oly Insider – Bill Tracking 2025

The modern lens of politics has merged a circus, a wrestling match, and reality television all into one big show. Citizens with handheld megaphones yell, scream, and cheer from the sidelines as the entertainers execute their representative functions in performative gestures, all while the structure and process hides the intent, functions, and manipulation behind the stage curtain.

Oly Insider is hosted by Erica Engelhart and Jay Fratt. These two citizen volunteers, and lifelong Washingtonians, gave up their secure family lives years ago to investigate and participate in the bureaucratic structure of governance in Washington State.

One of the most challenging aspects to citizen volunteerism in politics is understanding the process of legislation. Erica and Jay wanted to educate themselves more on the intricacies of legislation, and help their fellow Washingtonians learn along with them. Hence, Oly Insider was born.

Over several years of volunteering within the political structure, Erica and Jay have made many connections inside the Capitol Dome in Olympia, and they have developed a decent understanding of the show as it is presented to the public.

Oly Insider will track proposed bills during this legislative session (below) through committee meetings to the legislative floor. Some bills will die along the way, and some will pass through the process. Some will be tracked that haven’t been filed yet.

We are here to take the 2025 Legislative Ride, our ticket is purchased, and we are bringing you with us.
