Who knew life would bring two family types living the American dream to watching the state legislature after midnight on a weekend? Erica Engelhart and Jay Fratt continue traversing the legislative process this week as the House of Origin cut-off looms on the horizon.

HB-1018 The EFSEC Fusion Energy Classification within facility site certification bill passed through the house in February, and it has its first committee hearing scheduled in the Senate on March 14th at 10:30am

SB-5000 The Evergreen State Nickname bill passed the Senate in February, and it has its first committee hearing in the House on March 14th at 8am.

As of right now we are waiting for HB-1133 Concerning Sexually Violent Predators and HB-1132 Concerning Bulk Ammunition and Firearm Purchases to go to the House floor for debate.

Recently two bills covered by Oly Insider have gone to the House and Senate floor for debate and passage.

SB-5123 The inclusivity bill expanding protections for certain students to promote inclusivity in public schools. We hear from Senator Christian (R LD4) and Senator Fortunato (R LD31). The bill passed the Senate 30-19.

HB-1113 Concerning accountability and access to services for individuals charged with a misdemeanor was also heard this last weekend in the House. We hear from the bill primary sponsor Representative Farivar (D LD46) and Representative Walsh (R LD19). The bill passed 50-46.
